Heritage Craft meets Art
In tandem with my work in historic building conservation and period property decoration with MBP Decoration, I explore the boundary between traditional preservation methods and contemporary fine art under the mantle Art with Lime.
My practice is deeply inspired by nature, travel, and my hands-on conservation work on historic monuments—such as my recent eight-month appointment on the iconic Crystal Palace Dinosaurs and Italian Terraces. Through my artwork, I seek to celebrate the profound craftsmanship required to take historical architectural elements and preserve their stories for future generations.
Preserving Local Heritage
I translate my deep knowledge of historic materials directly into my local decorating practice, MBP Decoration, helping local property owners restore their period houses and write the next chapter in the story of their homes.
I am currently expanding my expertise at West Dean College, where I discovered the endangered craft of Pargetting—a traditional sand and lime bas-relief technique that I seamlessly weaves into my fine art practice alongside highly detailed ink stippling drawings.
