Welcome to MBP Decoration!

Hello, I’m Matthieu Philippault. Originally from the South of France, I’ve called the UK home for 20 years and am an active member of the Beckenham community.

My background is in product design and manufacturing, a career which taught me to appreciate the finer details and how to choose materials that are built to last. Today, I combine that design perspective with a lifelong love for architecture and traditional craft. I launched MBP Decoration to help homeowners in Beckenham and Crystal Palace create spaces that are both inspired and enduring.

A Commitment to Conservation

I believe that period homes require a specialist touch. To provide the best possible care for our local architectural heritage, I am currently studying for a Professional Diploma in Historic Building Conservation at West Dean College.

This training is directly informed by my practical work on-site, including my current role in the specialist team conserving the Crystal Palace Dinosaurs. Working on such a significant Grade I listed landmark is a privilege, and I bring that same level of historical insight and meticulous technique to every Victorian terrace or Edwardian home I work on.
